General Course Description and Expectations: AP Macroeconomics is a college-level course that introduces students to the principles that apply to an economic system as a whole. The course places particular emphasis on the study of national income and price-level determination. It also develops students’ familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth, and international economics. Students learn to use graphs, charts, and data to analyze, describe, and explain economic concepts.

The work done in this course is college-level, and it is expected that all students will treat it as such. In order for students to perform well on the AP Exam, students must meet the high expectations for the course and share the responsibility for mastery of the course objectives. A significant amount of coursework will be done outside of the classroom. Students are expected to participate fully, both in class and out, and to work diligently to get the most out of the course.

Personal Finance: Students will complete a Personal Finance unit at the end of the semester to meet all the Economics TEKS.
