In this class we will focus on vocabulary and composition skills. The course includes studies of various literary genres: short story, poetry, novel, drama, and non-fiction. The development of critical reading and writing skills is a major emphasis of the course. We will master composing expository and personal narrative texts using grammar skills and text structures. By the end of the year, students will demonstrate the ability to take a given prompt and plan, draft, and publish a written work.
